News from PEAK/GPEAK Section

Year 1 April 1, 2020

(Update) Exemption from Credit Limit for PEAK students (by Wednesday April 8)

In the Junior Division of College of Arts and Sciences, in order for students to undertake a sufficient number of hours of home study for each of the registered courses, the maximum number of credits that students may register per semester is set to 30 credits each in 1A semester, 1S semester or 2A Semester.

As described in PEAK Academic Handbook 2019, if a student fulfills both of the following requirements in his/her first A Semester after matriculation (except for readmission), the student may be exceptionally permitted to register for more courses than allowable under the Credit Limit from the following S Semester.

  1. The student must have obtained at least 25 credits for the Junior Division courses.
  2. Except for courses evaluated on a pass/fail basis, 90% or more of the student's obtained credits must have been evaluated as "A" and "A+".

If a student fulfills the aforementioned requirements and wishes to register for more courses than allowable under the Credit Limit in 1S semester and 2A Semester, the student should fill out and submit the prescribed application form to the PEAK/GPEAK Section within the designated period from Monday, April 6 to Wednesday, April 8.

>>>The application form is downloadable from here.

If an applicant does not fulfill the requirements, he/she will be notified via email to the contact address registered on UTAS no later than Monday, April 13.
