(Mar 25 to Apr 2) Application: Exemption from Credit Limit for PEAK students
To PEAK first year students who matriculated in 2025:
In the Junior Division of College of Arts and Sciences, in order for students to undertake a sufficient number of hours of home study for each of the registered courses, the maximum number of credits that students may register per semester is set to 30 credits each in 1A, 1S, and 2A Semesters.
As described in the PEAK Academic Handbook 2025 however, if a student fulfills both of the following requirements in their first A Semester after matriculation, the student may be exceptionally permitted to register for more courses than allowed under the Credit Limit from the following S Semester.
- The student must have obtained at least 25 credits for the Junior Division courses.
- Except for courses evaluated on a pass/fail basis, 90% or more of the student's obtained credits must have been evaluated as "A" or "A+".
If a student fulfills the aforementioned requirements and wishes to register for more courses than allowable under the Credit Limit in 1S Semester and 2A Semester, the student should fill out and submit the prescribed application form to the PEAK/GPEAK Section within the designated period from Wednesday, March 25 to Thursday, April 2.

Regarding the approval or disapproval of the exemption, we will send an e-mail notification to the students after the application is closed and before course registration starts in the S Semester (S1/S2 Term).
