| 採用理由 | オオツキ・グラント・ジュン氏の専門は、科学技術の人類学および科学技術社会論で、同分野においてすでに、共編著、トップジャーナルを含む学術雑誌に掲載された論文をはじめとする、数多くの業績を挙げている。 オオツキ氏の博士論文は、日本のロボット工学のラボで行ったフィールドワークに基づくもので、ロボット技術開発の現場において生成される「人間」とは何であるかを、繊細な民族誌的観察と高度な理論的考察をもとに論じている。その質の高い考 察は、人類学、科学技術社会論、サイバネティクス理論、そして哲学にまたがる幅広い視野から、機械と共に生きる人間の存在様態に深く迫っていくもので、人類学や科学技術社会論という専門分野の枠を越えた大きな意義を持つものと言える。オオツキ氏はこのほか、サイバネティクス理論が日本に導入されて独自の展開を遂げた過程に関する科学史的研究、また近年のデジタル・プラットフォームの急速な発展を踏まえた「知識のインフラストラクチャー」に関する研究も手掛けており、それらに関する研究成果もすでに学術雑誌で発表されつつある。 オオツキ氏は、アメリカ人類学会の一セクションSociety for Cultural Anthropologyの学生理事を務めたことがあるほか、科学技術社会論の国際学会Society for Social Studies of ScienceのオンラインジャーナルEngaging Science, Technology and Societyの編集委員を務めるなど、関係学会で目覚ましい活躍をしている。また、コロナ禍において教育手法の開発・刷新に果敢に取り組むなど、教育者として非常に面倒見が良いことで知られている。 以上の理由から、オオツキ・グラント・ジュン氏は本研究科の准教授として相応しいと判断した。 |
