[From UTELECON] Regarding Pre-link for the UTokyo Account Identity Verification Service
Division for Information and Communication Systems, The University of Tokyo will begin offering the 'UTokyo Account Identity Verification Service'. This service allows you to use your My Number Card for identity verification in situations such as when you have forgotten your UTokyo Account password or when multi-factor authentication malfunctions.
This service enables simple identity verification and password reset. Furthermore, should you have failed to back up data from University-provided services such as ECCS Cloud Mail or OneDrive prior to graduation, you may utilise this service to recover such data under certain conditions. This service is available to all UTokyo Account holders possessing a smartphone equipped with card-reading functions for My Number Cards. As the system does not register your personal identification number (My Number) itself, there is no risk of leakage of your My Number. However, you must complete a pre-registration procedure to use the service. We strongly encourage you to complete this procedure in advance to prepare for any potential issues.
