TA Opportunities in the English Language Department (Application Deadline: March 24)
We would like to invite you to work with us as teaching assistants for undergraduate English courses offered by the English Language Department in the Spring 2017 semester. There are several courses in the junior division in which the instructors need the help of reliable graduate teaching assistants. Your linguistic skills and international perspectives will contribute to the education of undergraduate students at the University of Tokyo, and we would be very grateful if you could consider sharing some of your time to work with us.
An English TA works under and cooperates with the instructor of each undergraduate class. Possible tasks for TAs include but are not limited to assisting the instructors and students in class discussions, setting up audiovisual equipment, and preparing teaching materials before class. TAship will be a good way to acquire teaching experience at the university level; it will also provide an opportunity to get to know more about education in Japan and to interact with undergraduate students.
