Today, we encounter and coexist with various cultures and values, both domestically and internationally, and at the same time, transmit our own culture and values. What is the secret of successful cross-cultural communication and how can it contribute to enhancing business strategies? What is "Global HR" and what does "HR" do? Ms. Tomoko Adachi has lived and worked in Japan, the U.S., and Europe, collaborating with, and leading members of different nationalities and backgrounds. She will discuss the challenges and excitement as a leader, what she tries to keep in her mind, and what she values in her life and career.

Brief Biography:
March 1990: Graduated from the Department of Social Psychology, Faculty of Letters, University of Tokyo
1990-2005, 2010-2019: Sony (Tokyo Headquarters, USA, Europe). Promoted organization and human resources development, design and implementation of global HR strategy (global common policy / program / infrastructure).
2005-2009: Engaged in a human resources consulting business based in Europe. Supported strategies and programs such as talent management, global mobility, and employer branding for global companies in Europe and Japan.
February 2019-Present: Works on design and promotion of global HR strategy for Terumo, a multinational medical device company headquartered in Japan with the corporate philosophy of "contributing to society through healthcare".
