Lost and Found in Translation ~ An Interpreter's Perspective Online Lecture and Training Trial with SHINNOSUKE NAKAMURA
December 16 (Thu) 18:40 - 19:40

Most people have at least some idea of what translators or interpreters do, but details as to where they work, what topics they deal with, how long they work, or even how one becomes a translator/interpreter may not be readily available. In this talk, I will introduce you to the profession of translator/interpreter and share with you the fun, the pain, the lure, and the ambivalence of working across two different languages and cultures. My talk will be followed by a brief, interactive interpreter-training session, which I hope will give you some tips for foreign language learning.
