The Owada Chair Program: Sixth Session

The Sixth Owada Chair Program will be held on Tuesday, 24 November, and Wednesday, 25 November, at the University of Tokyo's Komaba I Campus.
The Owada Chair has been co-hosted alternately by Leiden University--the oldest university in the Netherlands--and the University of Tokyo since Academic Year 2021, with the goal of promoting academic exchange and education in the humanities and social sciences. Each event focuses on a specific theme related to international law and international relations (politics and economics), featuring keynote speeches, discussions by young researchers and students, and other collaborative activities.
This year's theme is "Interface between International Law and Political Dynamics: Global Governance." Hisashi Owada, former Ambassador to the United Nations and former President of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), will deliver the Keynote Speech, followed by debate sessions and other interactive events where faculty members and students will further deepen the discussions.
Dates: Tuesday, 24 November - Wednesday, 25 November 2026
Venue: Auditorium and Collaboration Room 1, Building 18, Komaba I Campus, The University of Tokyo
