A collection of research papers published by faculty staff at the Department of Language and Information Sciences. Research on the linguistic activities that constitute human culture and society (including literature and thought), as well as research on language itself. Reviews by non-university researchers and critics, and special articles are also included.

A collection of research papers by students at the Department of Language and Information Sciences and successor to the former student research periodical, 'Research in Linguistics'. All published articles have undergone rigorous examination by faculty staff, and edited jointly by students and staff.

The Bulletin of Interdisciplinary Cultural Studie

The Bulletin of Interdisciplinary Cultural Studie Edited by the Department of Interdisciplinary Cultural Studies, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences
First issued in 1996, currently 18th issue (published in 2013), published once a year.

A collection of research papers by faculty staff and students at the Department of Interdisciplinary Cultural Studies. The bulletin functions as a space for the three branches of Comparative Literature and Culture, Culture and Representation, and Cultural Anthropology to highlight the distinctive features of their research approach in analysing various cultural and social phenomena. Published articles have all undergone rigorous screening by faculty staff.

ODYSSEUS, The Bulletin of Area Studies

ODYSSEUS Edited by the Department of Area Studies, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences
First issued in 1997, currently 18th issue (published in 2014), published once a year.

A collection of research papers by faculty staff at the Department of Area Studies, named after the classical hero Odysseus. Articles published in the bulletin discuss a variety of themes, taking into account their cultural background as well as their universal and particular characteristics, all with the backdrop of the current era of globalisation. The achievements of staff from the current academic year are included at the back of the bulletin.

First issued in 1951, currently 63th issue (published in 2014,known as 'The Bulletin of Social Sciences' until the 50th issue), published once a year.

A collection of research papers by faculty staff at the Department of Advanced Social and International Studies, as well as annual announcements of the Department of Social and International Relations. The publication communicates the latest news of both departments.

Frontière

Frontière Edited by the Department of Multi-Disciplinary Studies, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences
First issued in 1995, currently 20th issue (published in 2014), published once a year.

An annual publication including reports on research and educational activities at the Department of Multi-Disciplinary Sciences as well as discussions on current topics. The achievements of staff at the Department of Multi-Disciplinary Studies from the current academic year are included at the back of the bulletin.

A collection of research papers by faculty staff and graduate students under their guidance at the Department of History and Philosophy of Science, following a rigorous examination by faculty staff. Edited by an editorial committee elected from faculty staff.

The Bulletin of Foreign Languages Research

The Bulletin of Foreign Languages Research Edited by the Foreign Languages Committee
First issued in 1996 as a successor to 'The Bulletin of the Department of Foreign Languages' (1951-95),currently 14th issue (published in March 2010), published once a year.

A collection of research papers by all departments belonging to the Department of Foreign Languages, and is jointly edited by the Departments of English, German, French and Italian, Chinese and Korean, Russian, Spanish, and Classical and Mediterranean Languages. The bulletin is mainly composed of papers on language, literature and language education.

A collection of research papers by faculty staff, graduate students and collaborating researchers from both in Japan and abroad. Latest news is also included.

Research in International Relations

Research in International Relations Edited by the International Relations Research Group
First issued in 1996, currently 30th issue (published in 2013), generally published 1-2 times a year.

A collection of research papers by members of the International Relations Research Group, following a rigorous selection process by two anonymous reviewers. The editing process is undertaken by an editorial committee, consisting of staff and alumni of the Department of Advanced Social and International Studies.

Komaba Journal of English Education (KJEE)

KJEE Edited by the Department of English, College of Arts and Sciences
First issued in 2010, currently 5nd issue (published in 2014), published once a year.

A journal of articles published in English on the state of English-language teaching in higher education. The articles consist of both papers by faculty staff of the Department of English at the College of Arts and Sciences, as well as theses by graduating students of the English Education Program. The theses undergo examination from members of the University of Tokyo English Education Program Committee before publication.

A collection of theses by students of the Science Interpreter Training Program, a sub-program available for students of all graduate schools at the university. The dissertations are the fruits of research undertaken by students, under guidance from staff, on various themes on the interpretation of science and technology.

Annual news and reports and discussion by full- and part-time staff at the Student Counselling Center, including data and potential solutions for various aspects of student life unique to the Komaba campus and different ways for student support.

Report of the College of Arts and Sciences

Report of the College of Arts and Sciences Edited by the editorial committee of the Report of the College of Arts and Sciences
First issued in 1951, currently 567th issue (published on 2th July 2014), published 9 times a year.

The Report of the College of Arts and Sciences was founded in the early days of the College under the inaugural Dean, Tadao Yanaihara. In addition to facilitating smooth communication within the university, the Report aims to contribute to the liberal arts education, by publishing College policies and opinions, information on the newest research and exhibitions within the university, and career advice for students in the Senior Division. The Report also includes reviews of latest books and dictionaries, and reports or announcements of university events. Edited by faculty and administrative staff at the College, this is a truly unique periodical publication.

[Komaba] 20XX

[Komaba] 20XX Edited by the Public Relations Committee
First issued in 1991, currently issue [Komaba] 2010 (published in March 2011), published once a year.

An annual report, published in printed format, of the vast range of research and educational activities at the College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Complete issues are published on odd years, including a summary of all staff members, while a supplementary issue is published on even years that report on the activities undertaken at an organisation level. In an era characterised by higher education reform, the College and Graduate School have strived to adapt and develop while not losing sight of their tradition of 'liberal arts' in education and research of Komaba. This report has served to be a valuable information source for staff to both stay in touch with the state of education and research at Komaba and also to critique themselves. At the same time, it has also been an invaluable resource for new students and other members of the community to learn more in depth about Komaba. In 2010, with the 20th anniversary of its publication, the paper version of [Komaba] 20XX came to an end. From 2011, the annual report of educational and research activities at Komaba will be communicated online. 。

Pacific and American Studies

A collection of articles, papers, reviews, symposium and research reports etc. on the political, economic, historical and cultural issues in the Pacific and American regions. The journal includes not only staff from the University of Tokyo, but also widely from researchers at other institutions and papers selected from open competition in the university.

European Studies

European Studies Edited by the Center for German and European Studies
First issued in 2002, currently 13th issue (published in 2014), published once a year.

The journal of the Center for German and European Studies, and includes contributions from researchers in German and European Studies both in and out of Japan, reports from symposiums, papers and research notes from staff and graduate students at the University of Tokyo, etc. The papers undergo a rigorous selection process by university faculty members, upon request from editorial staff at the Center.
