Cultural Anthropology

Cultural anthropology studies the everyday cultural practices of various societies around the world based on careful fieldwork such as participant observation. Over time, we have ambitiously expanded our scope of research, which ranges from traditional tribal societies to the multitude of problems of contemporary society, and includes not only foreign cultures but also Japanese culture. Our research focuses on both the microscopic observations of culture and society as well as consideration from a global perspective.
